Our Ground Zero Minnesota Logo Explained
The Ground Zero MN logo has a history relevant to the current endeavor.
The Ground Zero MN logo features a dove, an eagle, a flag, a peace symbol
and a heart. This was an explicit attempt to combine the virtues of peace
activists and the professional military, by a student named Vanessa in
1984 from Southwest High School in Minneapolis Minnesota. For over 24
years we have worked constructively with both peace and military people.
This habit of active engagement with the virtues of polarized groups
that are focused on a common problem has fertilized our educational work
ever since. There is always a significant amount of background information
which both sides can agree is useful, and that is often underrepresented
among the public’s "facts I know about the world." The
act of working together to improve the quality of teaching materials
of a constructive nature also helps to build tolerance and generates
useful efforts outside the zone of common ground.
In conferences, this means access to really exceptional thinkers on
varied sides of complex problems. In teaching aids, this means more usable
products for broader groups of people with manifold means for influencing
the future. In intelligence, this means better answers faster than obtained
by conventional, polarized, and highly exclusive processes.
